Hallelujah! It Has Risen!
The print trend is back in grand style, (especially since it is natural for people to think floral prints and things are best for female fashion).
Any Fashion Connoisseur will be aware that the print trend for men is quite the vintage one since men in the 80’s were fond of them and it seemed to be their ultimate must-have at that time; I can still vividly remember pictures of my dad and grandfathers rocking shirts with bold, statement-making stylish prints.
Somewhere along the years evolution got in the way and prints laid low or as I like to say died for such a long time.
Being the fashionisto, I would itch and be tempted to wear it at times when it wasn't trending but the fear of the fashion police wont let; It was as if the men's fashion sense was being deprived of freedom of expression! - But now they are back in full force and I'm loving it!
The print trend was resurrected by some brilliant designers in unique style Last Spring/Summer Season (2011).
But (not surprisingly) it still rests with the Top Fashionistas in Nigeria as men of now a days are too scared to try new things *smh*.
Prints come in different forms viz: Floral, Animal, Paisley, Tribal, Abstract, et all.
Keep in mind that I am referring mainly to Men's Fashion so when I mention prints, I mean prints on shirts, blazers and even trousers/shorts (for those who are open to stylishly taking fashion risks) because apparently men have embraced print ties, cravats, pocket squares and other accessories.
Quite a number of friends who wouldn't be caught dead in print style apparels like floral print shirts have a bunch of floral print ties.
So it shows that you certainly can try prints in different ways; if you do not feel like making print style items the center of attraction for an outfit, you can chip it in as an accessory.
Print shirts are a must have this summer; I’ve already started gathering my collection and so should you!

A Guys Guide To Wearing Prints:
- You Can rock your print shirts with denim pants or chinos pants or even shorts for a casual and classy look.
- You can also rock print blazers or pull off a good look with a plain dark blazer and a print shirt.
If you have a print pant, shirt or blazer, let it be the main focus, every other thing should be kept moderate and simple.
The obsession for prints increased this spring and the classy aura it gives is amazing; it gives you this relaxed and sophisticated look.
I have certainly not covered all there is to Men's prints so you are free to do a little more research on the different types of prints listed above, find a comfortable type of print and pull your look together from lessons learnt either from Street-Styles, Look Books, Fashionistas or better still from Personal Experiments.
